Nigeria Troops clear cattle rustlers and armed bandits, Zamfara state

According to a statement released this morning by the Nigerian Army, Troops of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army in conjunction with the Nigeria Police in Zamfara State, today carried out an operation in Maru village which was targeted at suspected cattle rustlers and armed bandits.

Although many of the cattle rustlers and armed bandits escaped during the operation, the joint team recovered substantial quantity of arms and ammunitions in the area.

It is believed that some of the criminals escaped with gun shot wounds. The team is still combing the general area for such persons. The military have advised the resident of Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina and Kaduna States to report any suspicious persons especially those with gunshot wounds.
